Indianapolis Colts promote WR Daurice Fountain from practice squad

The Indianapolis Colts have promoted wide receiver Daurice Fountain from the practice squad.

Indianapolis announced the roster move on Friday. The Colts also waived tight end Clive Walford and signed quarterback Phillip Walker to the practice squad.

Fountain, 22, was a fifth-round pick by the Colts in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Northern Iowa product has spent the entire season on the AFC South franchise's practice squad. He spent the offseason and training camp with the Colts before being waived during final cuts.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound pass-catcher had 2,077 yards and 23 scores on 150 catches during his collegiate career.

Walford, 27, had nine catches for 80 yards in 13 games last season for the Oakland Raiders. The third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft was signed by the Colts on Nov. 28 as a free agent. He was inactive last week at Jacksonville. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end had 768 yards and six scores on 80 receptions in 44 games for the Raiders.

Walker, 23, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent signing by the Colts in 2017. He spent the entire 2017 campaign on the Colts' practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts in January and spent the offseason and training camp with the franchise before being waived in September.

The Colts face the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. on Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston.
